SAP
Installation
Two versions of the SAP interface (SAP GUI) are available.
- The Java version:
Pros: runs on Windows, Mac OS and Linux. Lighter than the other version (downloadable online).
Cons: some features are not available. In particular, no generation of graphics (problem in Production Planning).
- The Windows version:
Pros: complete
Cons: Only for Windows (or Mac with a Windows environment).
SAP GUI Windows
This version is installed in the computer room 238.
To install it on your computer, download SAP_GUI_740.exe.
Configure the SAP GUI:
- Start the SAP GUI (SAP Logon)
- Create a new connection (blank page icon or File menu)
- [If you get a window with a case labeled "Search", click on the "Next" button without doing anything on this window]
- Play with the menu "Connection Type" until there is a case labeled "APPLICATION server" in the box of "System Connection Settings". The menu behaves oddly and several tests may be necessary.
- Add a description - Name your connection (e.g. course, ...)
- Fill the form with these parameters:
- Application Server: A01z
- Instance number: 01
- System ID: A01
- SAProuter String: /H/cloud.ucc.ovgu.de/S/3299/H/
- Press the button "Finish"
Use the SAP GUI: double click on the name you gave to your connection.
Enter the customer number (217) and identify yourself.
SAP GUI Java (not recommended)
To install the Java version of the SAP interface (SAP GUI), you must have a recent JRE version (Java Run Time Environment). The installation of SAP GUI will not start if it is not the case. Java is already installed on many machines. If this is not the case with your own computer: download & install JRE.
Download and then install the Java SAP GUI for Mac
Configure the SAP GUI:
- Start the SAP GUI (SAP Java)
- Create a new connection (blank page icon or File menu)
- "Advanced" tab
- Add a description - Name your connection (e.g. course, ...)
- Check the case "Expert"
- Paste the following text in the text box:
conn=/H/cloud.ucc.ovgu.de/S/3299/H/A01Z/S/3201
- Save
